I have read a number of blogs recently where people suggest outfits for first dates. So I thought I would have a go at turning this idea Vegan. So first off I need come up with 5 ideas that have a Vegan theme, and then select the appropriate shoes to wear from our collection.
I have to admit to using a little creative license so I can promote some of my favourite events on the Vegan calendar, but nevertheless each could be an idea for a first date. I am not an agony aunt after all, I just like pretty shoes J
So my 5 first dates are…..
1. Vegan Camp
2. Rock with the Foxes
4. A day out at the beach
5. A meal at Vanilla Black
So the first date is Vegan Camp, which may be associated with families and helping Vegan children meet other vegan children, but you can go for the day so I think it is a great idea for a first Vegan date. You could have a communal meal, have a sing song around the camp fire, and hopefully if all is going well even go for a romantic walk. So what shoes would I choose for such an occasion? Well they would have to be reasonably practical so I have chosen Millie – Nude zigzag print. These are a beautiful round toe ballet pump that can be worn in any season. I adore the tassel detail on the front. The fabrics used are wonderful and they are lined with soft PU faux leather so are extremely comfortable.
So my second choice of a first date is a gig with a cause. Rock with the Foxes is a fund raising event in aid of The Fox Project with live music from The FireTones who are a 50’s Rock & Roll Band. In the evening there is a Vegan BBQ and you can bring your own drinks. I love to dance and hopefully so will my date, so this is a great chance to see if we are in sync! This gives more an opportunity to wear a bit of a heel, though not too high as I don’t want to collapse on the dance floor after a few glasses of wine. So I have chosen Sophie in Black Faux Suede. They are a vintage court shoe with a mid size heel that are wearable yet stylish. So are ideal to dance the night away. I love the gold vintage stripes, and fit in with the 50s rock band. They are made from 100% recylced bottletop faux leather.
VegFest UK is a cracking day out, and when the show came to my home town of Brighton in March I had a great time. What Vegan man wouldn’t appreciate the London show in October for a first date? Plus Dave Spikey is hosting the awards so it should be full of laughs. Elisha – Pink Suede With Floral Print is my choice for this first date.
Not every Vegan first date needs to have such an obvious Vegan theme, and as I am from Brighton, what better than a day out at the beach. We have been blessed with some lovely sunny days, so a first date at Brighton beach is definitley on the list. It might be worth packing two pairs of shoes, one to wear on the sand, and another as you stroll alomg the promenade. So for the beach I have chosen Madison in grey vegan faux suede.
They are a flat sandal with a slingback and peep toe, and I think they are just so cute. Made from 100% recycled PET bottletop Dinamica suede upper they are the perfect shape for the beach. I would then change into Lucie – leopard print to stoll along the promenade. They are a comfortable shoe and are my favourite court shoe in our range.
The final date a meal at Vanilla Black in London is a chance for me get my glam on! All the other dates would be great fun, but this is one with a man who has a touch of class. This is one of my favourite restaurants so I would spend that little bit longer making sure I had the perfect outfit.
Jaffa – Black faux suede with gold is the perfect shoe to go with almost any dress to show that Vegans can wear beautiful shoes that are cruelty free. They are a striking sandal with a gold faux snakeskin straps and front detail that is both subtle and elegant. I am getting quite excited and carried away, for a moment I thought I was actually going on this date.
I hope you like my ideas for a Vegan first date, I would love to hear some of yours. Of course these ideas aren’t just restricted to a first date, and the choice of shoes would suit any Vegan mummy at these events.
I hope to see you wearing Beyond Skin at these events soon J
