The festive season is now in full swing but we’re sure you still have a few yuletide gatherings ahead, whether it’s a quiet family Christmas or a lavish party on New Year’s Eve. If you’re looking for the perfect finishing touch for an outfit you’ve just bought or want to refresh an old faithful then take a look at our most coveted Christmas styles.

Christmas Eve Drinks
Grace, Black – £150

The presents are wrapped, the tree is up and Carols from Kings is wafting gently through the house. This is one of our favourite nights to have our closest friends over or pop to the local for a few intimate drinks. The night is magical enough by itself so this is the one time you don’t need to gild the lily too much when it comes to your outfit. Our Grace shoe-boots are ideal if you want to dress up without being overdressed; the slight platform gives you an extra couple of centimetres and the sleek grey-on-black woven design adds a touch of luxe to your look.
Wear them with: The uptown twist on a classic Chelsea boot goes perfectly with a pair of slim-cut jeans and the most festive jumper you can find. Head to Monkee for some organic cotton, PETA-approved vegan jeans (and while you’re there, check out the work they’re doing to save British bees and create better lives for clothing workers in Bangladesh), and to your nearest charity shop or vintage retailer for a fabulously lurid Christmas jumper.

Last-Minute Invitation
Marley, Red – £104

If you’re anything like us, you’ll already have gained a pound or two (or five) since the Christmas adverts started to trickle onto the airwaves back in November. You’ve also probably been running around like a headless chicken, so when an unexpected invitation pops up it’s worth having a super-comfy outfit at the tip of your fingers to throw on at the last minute. For effortless sex kitten-cool we love the Marley shoes in holly berry red. The minxy little heel makes them perfect for nights that could as easily end with you sipping a martini as dancing on a table. The cute bow at the back keeps things festive while the soft vegan suede ensures ultimate glamour at all times.
Wear them with: Visualise Marilyn circa My Heart Belongs to Daddy and channel your inner sweater girl. We love this Fairtrade, organic cotton rollneck dress from People Tree. Slip into some seriously sheer black tights and you’re ready for whatever the night may bring you.

Cocktails With Friends
Cat, Navy and Silver – £120

One of our favourite things about this time of year is trotting over to a friend’s house for a cheeky cocktail. This is no time to overdress, and more importantly there are no guarantees that you won’t end up throwing some serious shapes before the night is over. The Cat shoes in navy and metallic silver are a perfect combination of practical and party without even the hint of compromise. The bespoke Italian fabric brings a little festive sparkle to the on-trend slipper silhouette, while the flat soles will keep your look casual and your feet comfortable.
Wear them with: When we think of timeless flats, we immediately picture perfectly cut cigarette pants. Wear them low-key with a man’s oversized dress shirt (think Audrey Hepburn) or crank up the glamour with a sleek suit or tuxedo. We also love these wide-legged slacks by Stella McCartney, our go-to designer for ethical luxury.

The Ultimate New Year’s Eve
Meave, Gold and Black – £140

Nothing says festive glamour like the combination of black and gold; it is the perfect meeting point of timeless elegance and seasonal sparkle. If the Meave shoes in black and gold jacquard were made for one thing, it’s dancing the night away at a glittering New Year bash. The 10cm heel is sexy without being lethal and the soles are flexible with padded insoles so you can dazzle your friends with that Taylor Swift routine you’ve been secretly practicing. The vegan upper is seriously resilient, too, so if you have clumsy friends then you don’t have to worry about spillages – just sponge them clean in the morning.
Wear them with: The intricate geo pattern and festive bows make these shoes ideal for partying-up your most trusted little black dress or black skinny jeans and slinky top. If, however, you want to go all-out luxe while avoiding the acres of silk, leather and feathers that are around this season, there are some great synthetic lace and tulle dresses around. This sheer tulle and velvet dress by Yoana Baraschi is 100% manmade and would look utterly spellbinding with smoky eyes, black nail polish and our Meave shoes.

Christmas Day
Ellen, Red – £130

When the moment that you can change out of your pyjamas and into something a little more celebratory comes this Christmas, what will you be slipping into? We love that you can get away with something a little more kitsch and fabulous than normal at this time of year, so we’ll be taking the opportunity to get picture-postcard retro. Nothing screams chocolate-box chic more than our favourite festive shoes, Ellen. These shoes, in glossy red jacquard, are about as Christmassy as it gets – they are even tied up with a cheery bow. The 9cm heel is perfect for flitting from kitchen to table and the beautiful vegan fabric is pleasingly spill-proof.
Wear them with: If you watch White Christmas every year and wonder why we don’t ever look as fabulous as Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen, then go the whole retro hog with a full circle skirt and layers of net underskirts. We love Vivien of Holloway’s range because it is all made right here in the UK. The Grace dress in navy satin is as Christmassy as can be, particularly when worn over a scarlet underskirt with your Ellen shoes.
